From Denmark
Water when the plant actually needs it.
A discreet scale sits under the pot. It learns the wet and dry weight — then the app reminds you, before the leaves drop.
Not for sale yet. We are finishing validation and preparing a small first batch.
The problem
Guessing is what kills houseplants.
Calendars are wrong. Soil sticks dry out. People water when they remember — or when the plant is already tired.
Hyggence does not guess moisture. It weighs the pot. Water has mass. When that mass leaves, the plant is thirsty. When it jumps back, you just watered.
The sticker is meant to disappear under a Nordic indoor pot — furniture, not a gadget on the shelf.
How it works
Three quiet steps.
Place
Set the scale under the pot. Pair it over Bluetooth, give the plant a name, and leave it there.
Learn
Water thoroughly once. The system records a wet weight, then watches the pot get lighter as the plant drinks.
Remind
When the weight falls to the dry side of that range, the app shows Water needed. After a clear jump, it logs Watered.
The product
A scale that lives with the plant.
No screen. A tap on the pot can wake it. A small light, a battery, and a precision load cell — then it goes back to sleep.
Made for indoor pots
Designed for homes, not grow racks. The interesting object in the room should still be the plant.
Weight curve
Each sample is stored with time. Open the plant in the app to see the history — not just a yes/no probe.
Watering inbox
Water needed and Watered land as events you can read when you pick up the phone. No noise for the sake of it.
Built to sip power
Production devices sleep between collects. The point of a sticker under a pot is that you forget the hardware.
The system
Hardware, firmware, cloud, app — one product.
Hyggence is not a white-label sensor with a dashboard bolted on. We design the scale, the firmware, the watering logic, and the companion app as one stack.
Plant scale
Precision weighing, Bluetooth setup, and a long-life battery. Factory calibrated. You tare once — then it lives under the pot.
Watering logic
Readings go to our backend. The system learns a wet weight, watches the dry-down, and writes Water needed or Watered.
Your garden
Add a plant, pair the scale, see the curve, and keep a watering inbox. Species and a photo are optional — the weight is not.
What’s next
Still being built. On purpose.
The idea is past a sketch and not yet a shop. We are in late validation, then a small first batch — and the product still has room to grow.
Small-batch samples
We are preparing a limited run for homes that want to live with the scale, not just see a demo.
Know the plant
Next: help the app recognise what you grow, so reminders can respect the species — not only the pot weight.
Feeding, later
Water is the first problem. Fertiliser advice is on the roadmap once the scale is something people trust every week.
Company
Hyggence ApS
We are a Danish company building quiet technology for indoor plants. The name comes from hygge — a home that feels alive — and the belief that a plant should be part of that, without a schedule you have to remember.
We work from Denmark and build for Nordic indoor life: long winters, low light, pots on the windowsill. The first product is a watering reminder that weighs the pot.
